THIS WEEK: Next up for the WSU men's golf team is the Bighorn Invitational, which is set to take place March 23-24 in Palm Desert, California. The invitational will be hosted by Kansas State, which will be their first time hosting a tournament since 2014.

THE COURSE: The event will take place at Canyons Course in Palm Desert, California. The course plays at a par 72, with teams playing a total of 7,000 yards. The invitational will tee off the first two rounds Friday morning with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. (PT). Saturday will feature 18 holes, with Nos. 1 and 10 ranging from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

THE FIELD:  Participating teams include BYU, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, San Diego State, South Alabama and Washington State.

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougars will be seniors Derek Bayley, Brian Mogg, and Zach Anderson, junior AJ Armstrong, and sophomore Daniel Kolar.

LAST TIME OUT:  The Cougars marked their best finish away from home at the Bandon Dunes Collegiae on March 13. The Cougars closed out the three rounds with an 841(-11), which was also their lowest score since the Pacific Invitational in 2015. Senior Derek Bayley finished in second place, earning his all-time best finish away from home and his best career finish since a win at home in 2015 (200,13).

Dustin White, a WSU alum who golfed for the Cougars from 1999-2003.
