You're now two contests into your spring season, what do you think of the team's, as well as your personal performance so far?
A: I think we've done really good so far. I think beating Oregon in our dual was a good start and a confidence builder going into the spring season. It didn't count for rankings but we also beat them this week so that was kind of a nice thing. I think we all have room to improve, but for the most part I think it was a good starting point and we are pretty happy with where we are at so far.
What areas do you feel you could improve in as a team?
A: I think it's all mental. I think we have it all together, but it's just everyone using their own mental techniques out there on the course that will really set us apart. We are still kind of learning what techniques what work best for us individually, where in the past we just kind of grouped each other together and tried to work on the same things, which doesn't necessarily work for everyone. In this last tournament we kind of went out and used our own strategies on the course, which I think set us up in a good position.
Are there any particular methods you have to keep your focus or cool when the game challenges you mentally?
A: I think we have realized that it's very individualized. I am somebody who likes to get pumped up out on the course but my other teammates don't like to go about it that way. With a 36 hole day it's really hard to stay up on that level, so it is really important to be able to get in the zone for the two minutes that you are in that shot and then check out, because otherwise you will tire yourself out.
Do you have any personal goals you have set for the spring season?
A: I haven't set any outcome goals, but I think it would be great to make it to post season. Alivia since I've been here has been the one to make it to post season which is great, but I think as a team I think this is the year we could do that. Individually I would love to make it to post season by myself and also just feel satisfied with where I'm at and how I play.
Do you think there is any benefit to the fact that the team is built of solely returners?
A: Yes I think it's a huge benefit just because we are all so comfortable and you're out there grinding the day out with five of your best friends. We've really gotten to know each other since last year, and then going into this year it's like 'okay we are just going to build on what we know'. I think it's been really good and next year will be also with the three or four people coming in, that will be a totally different transition but I think they will be equally good.
