THIS WEEK: The Washington State University men's golf team will travel to Westlake Village, California to compete in the Southwestern Invitational.
THE TOURNAMENT: The two-day tournament will take place at the North Ranch Country Club. The course is a par 72 and the teams will play 6,992 yards. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday will consist of 18 holes teeing off with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m.
THE FIELD: Joining Washington State and host-school Pepperdine is Augusta, Denver, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, SMU, Tennessee, UC Davis, and UCLA.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougars will be seniors Derek Bayley, Zach Anderson and Brian Mogg, junior AJ Armstrong, and sophomore Daniel Kolar.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN: The Cougars finished in 17th place in the stacked field at the John Burns Invitational in Hawaii. Senior Derek Bayley led the way at three-over par.
COACHING STAFF: The men's golf team is led by second-year head coach Dustin White, a WSU alum who golfed for the Cougars from 1999-2003.
