Women's Golf Season Begins On The Road In New Mexico

The Cougs will face a stacked field at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.
THIS WEEK: The Washington State University women's golf team travels to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the 2017 Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at The Championship Golf Course, Sept. 11-12.

THE COURSE: The Championship Golf Course at the University of New Mexico is a par-73, 6,315-yard track …the first and second rounds will take place on Monday, Sept. 11, signaled by a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m…the final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12.

THE FIELD: Joining host-school New Mexico in the 17–team field will be UC Davis, Cal State Fullerton, Denver, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Miami, UNLV, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Stanford, UTEP, and Washington State.

THIS YEAR'S COUGARS: The 2017-18 WSU women's golf team is full of collegiate experience, with all six players having spent at least one year at WSU entering the year...Brown enters her final season coming off of a 25th place finish at the 2017 NCAA Lubbock Regionals.

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE: Competing for the Cougar women will be seniors Bree Wanderscheid and Alivia Brown, junior Madison Odiorne, and sophomores Elodie Bridenne and Marie Lund-Hansen. Redshirt freshman Emily Baumgart will compete as an individual.

COACHING STAFF: This will be Kelli Kamimura's ninth season as head coach…last season, Kamimura led the Cougars to their second-lowest team scoring average in school history…WSU alumna Emma Betland is entering her third season as assistant coach…Betland golfed for WSU from 2010-2013.
