TORRANCE, Calif. -- The Washington State track and field competitors reached season-best and lifetime-best marks Friday at the 59th Annual Mt SAC Relays, held this year at El Camino College in Torrance, Calif., and at the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State.

At Mt. SAC Relays,
Kiana Davis (senior, Longview, Wash.) won the women's Open high jump with a season-best leap of 5-feet 8 inches (1.73m) and teammate
Lateah Holmes cleared 5-6 (1.68m) for sixth place.

Anden Lewis (redshirt junior, Kirkland, Wash.) tied for second in the men's Open-B pole vault with a PR clearance at 15-11 (4.85m).
Troy Gingerich equaled his PR height clearing 15-5 (4.70m), the same bar that
Tucker Mjelde cleared, both Cougs tying at ninth place.

In the women's 5000m Invitational Elite race,
Vallery Korir (junior, Iten, Kenya) ran a PR time of 16 minutes, 36.40 seconds for 31st. Korir's time is 10th-best in WSU's all-time records.
Michael Williams finished 31st in the men's 5000m Invitational Elite race with a time of 14:08.85.

In the men's 100m dash,
Ja'Maun Charles's 10.54 seconds was 13th and
Zach Smith's 10.92 was 52nd. Later in the day Charles ran the 200m in 21.61 for 36th.

Several of the WSU men reached PRs in the men's 1500m:
Chandler Teigen's PR of 3:47.24 was sixth;
Paul Ryan's PR of 3:47.44 was seventh;
Reid Muller's PR of 3:49.78 was 18th;
Justin Janke's time of 3:52.08 was 29th;
Kyler Little's PR of 3:57.26 was 41st; and
Sam Levora's time of 4:02.51 was 50th.
Matthew Swanson ran the 800m in 1:52.20 for 19th and
Reid Muller's time of 1:54.64 was 38th.

Sam Brixey's fifth place time of 14.37 led the Cougar men in the 110m hurdles.
Abu Kamara's 14.51 was 10th,
Christapherson Grant's 14.60 was 12th and
Nick Johnson's 14.82 was 15th.

In men's field events,
Keelan Halligan high jumped 6-6 3/4 (2.00m) to tie at seventh,
Robby Flores triple jumped 44-3 1/2 (13.50m) which placed 15th,
Jake Callaghan put the shot a PR distance of 54-5 /12 (16.60m) for eighth place, and in the discus
Tyler Jackson's 159-3 (48.53m) was 14th and
Adam Mahama's 146-2 (44.56m) was 26th.

In women's track events,
Regyn Gaffney ran the 100m dash in a time of 11.67 for 12th and
Danielle Darden's time of 12.26 was 44th.
Tierney Silliman ran the 200m in 24.94 for 40th. The women's 4x100m relay squad of
Jordyn Tucker, Gaffney, Silliman and Darden finished fifth with a time of 45.87.

Middle distance races found
Marlow Schulz' time of 2:12.07 was 27th,
Grace Victor's PR of 2:12.24 was 29th and
Natalie Ackerley's 2:12.99 was 31st. In the women's 1500m,
Devon Bortfeld's time of 4:31.27 was seventh place.

Lindsey Schauble ran the 400m hurdles in a PR time of 1:02.40 for 18th place, followed by
Stephanie Cho's 1:03.85 (31st) and
Alissa Brooks-Johnson's 1:04.10 (33rd).

In women's field events Friday,
Kristine Felix pole vaulted 12-9 1/2 (3.90m) to tie for third in the Open-A flight and
Molly Scharmann's vault of 12-5 1/2 (3.80m) tied for second in the Open-B flight.
Greer Alsop long jumped a wind-aided distance of 18-6 (5.64m) for 11th.

Season-best discus throws were produced by
Kaitlin Krouse with a mark of 143-11 (43.87m) for 10th and
Chrisshnay Brown's 138-8 (42.26m) for 16th.

At the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State Friday,
Katie Wardsworth (redshirt junior, Spokane Valley, Wash.) threw the hammer a PR distance of 191-3 (58.29m), surpassing her Thursday throw at the Mt. SAC Relays as the fourth-best women's hammer throw in school history.

Brock Eager took third place in the men's hammer with a throw of 214-11 (65.51m) with
Wyatt Meyring's toss of 184-4 (56.19m) 18th and
Amani Brown's throw of 175-1 (53.36m) 31st.

In the women's javelin,
Atina Kamasi's throw of 152-4 (46.43m) was eighth place and
Kelsey Kehl's throw of 150-7 (45.90m) was ninth.
Cole Smith's 198-11 (60.63m) in the men's javelin was 11th place.
