LEWISTON, Idaho -- Washington State's
Justin Janke and
Samantha King-Shaw led limited squads of Cougars at the Inland Empire Championships Saturday at the Lewis-Clark State College Cross Country Course in Lewiston, Idaho.

Janke, a sophomore from Spokane, Wash., finished sixth on the 8000m course in a time of 24 minutes 9.9 seconds. The WSU men and their finishes included
Reid Muller 20th in 24:43.5,
Cameron Dean 21st in 24:43.6,
Kyler Little 24th in 24:51.8,
Zach Stallings 27th in 24:57.0,
Jacob Nicholson 30th in 24:59.0,
Kennan Schrag 40th in 25:13.8, and
Luke Schilter 48th in 25:26.5.

John Whelan, a WSU competitor with only 2018 track eligibility, won the men's race running unattached in a time of 23:35.6.

King-Shaw, a freshman from Sparks, Nev., finished 14th in the women's 5000m race in a time of 18:10.5. Other Cougars racing in Lewiston and their finishers included
Desi Stinger 22nd in 18:20.8,
Katherine Dittmann 31st in 18:36.4,
Pia Richards 41st in 18:52.0, and
Alexis Redfield 50th in 19:05.6.

Andrea Condie from Idaho won the women's race in a time of 17:14.6.
