Cross Country at Madison and Lewiston Meets this Weekend

WSU CROSS COUNTRY AT MADISON AND LEWISTON MEETSÂ
The Washington State men's and women's cross country squads will compete in both Wisconsin and Idaho this weekend...Cougars will race in the 9th Annual Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, Madison, Wis., Fri., Oct. 13...Cougar women will be running in the 6k "B" race begining at 9 a.m. PT...Cougar men will race in the championship 8k at 11 a.m. PT...live results will be posted at go.wisc.edu/Nuttyresults...WSU will also send  teams to compete Sat., Oct. 14, at the Inland Empire Championship at Lewis-Clark State College Cross Country Course, Lewiston, Idaho...women's 5k race will being at 11 a.m. with the men's 8k race to follow at 11:45 a.m...results will be posted at wsucougars.com when available.Â
LAST TIME
 At the 2016 Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational WSU men's cross country team finished ninth out of 28 teams...women's cross country team finished fourth in the open race out of 12 teams...at the 2016 Inland Empire Championships WSU men's finished first out of five teams...women's team finished fourth out of five teams.
COUGARS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Washington State University men's cross country team moved down in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Rankings, published Oct. 3, and the West Region Rankings, published Oct. 2, after a disappointing 11th place finish at last week's Joe Piane Norte Dame Invitational Meet...WSU men are ranked No. 29 in the USTFCCCA National Week 4 Poll, dropping from No. 11 in the previous week's rankings...other nationally ranked Pac-12 teams are No. 4 Stanford, No. 7 Colorado, No. 8 Oregon, and No. 20 UCLA...in the West Region Men's Week 4 rankings, the men dropped from No. 3 in Week 3, published Sept. 25, to No. 8...the WSU women's team is now ranked at No. 15 in the Week 4 West Region rankings after a 14th place finish last week at Notre Dame...complete national and regional rankings are on pages 2 and 3 of this release.
