Two Cougars in Top 25 Through One

The team is tied for 5th place in the Golfweek Conference Challenge

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa: The WSU men's golf team is tied with three other teams through the first round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge, Sunday, at the Cedar Rapids Country Club. San Francisco, McNeese State, and Sacramento State each share the Cougars final score of 291 (+3).
 
 North Carolina State leads the tournament after shooting a 274 (-14). Iowa sits in second place nine strokes away with a 283 (-5), and UNCW rounds out the top three with a 285 (-3).
 
Senior Brian Mogg sits tied for 13th with seven others after tallying a 71 (-1).  Senior Derek Bayley joins Mogg in the top 25 just one stroke back with an even 72. Bayley is tied for 21st with nine others.
 
Junior Grant Cole shot one over par with a 73, leaving him tied for 31st place. Sophomore Daniel Kolar and junior AJ Armstrong are both tied for 44th place among six others. They each shot a 75 (+3).
 
The Golfweek Conference Challenge will continue with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., Monday, September 18th.
