Cougar Women Close Out Play In New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The final round in the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational concluded Tuesday afternoon, with the WSU women's golf team finishing in 16th place. The team shot a 904(+40) over three rounds. Finishing at the top was No. 24 Oklahoma State who went one under over three rounds for a total score of 863. Two strokes behind in second place was 2016 National Runner-up and No. 6 ranked Northwestern who shot a combined 865 (+1).
 
Senior Alivia Brown led the Cougars, shooting just 4-over par for the three rounds to tie for 25th. Brown shot a 143 (-1) in the first two rounds and a 77 (+5) over the final round. Sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen ended play with a score of 224 (+8), and tied for 52nd place. After carding three birdies in the third round, senior Bree Wanderscheid scored a team-best 75(+3) and finished out the tournament tied for 63rd.
 
Bianca Pagdanganan of No. 14 Arizona and Andrea Lee of No. 2 Stanford tied for first place individually, with both players shooting a 208 (-8).
 
The Cougars will next compete in their own WSU Cougar Cup September 18-19 at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.
