Get To Know (Thompson)Get To Know (Thompson)
Get to know the Cougars' incoming players before they put on the Crimson and Gray next season. This week's future Coug comes to the Palouse having already proven herself on the collegiate pitch. We get to know a little more about incoming junior Rachel Thompson from Nikiski, AK.

What do you hope to get out of your time at Washington State?
I hope to finish getting my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and use that to help children become the best that they can be. I am hoping that this experience with soccer will build me better as an individual and to develop a stronger sense of teamwork.

What made you want to be a Coug?
The first thing that made me want to attend WSU was its fantastic education program. Once I knew that I liked the academics, I looked into their soccer program more. Once I went on a visit, I knew right away that Washington State was where I wanted to be.

What do you love about soccer?
The thing that I love most about soccer is that you just get to play. There really isn't a set pattern to the sport. You get to just do what comes naturally.

Who inspired you athletically to pursue your collegiate dreams?
My sister, Hannah, was the one who inspired me to pursue my collegiate dreams. She has always been my role model and I have always strived from greatness because of her.
