No. 25 WSU Volleyball Ready for NCAA Second Round Match Friday

Box Score NO. 25 WSU VOLLEYBALL ADVANCES TO NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP SECOND ROUND
The Washington State University volleyball team (22-11), an at-large selection to the 2016 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament, advanced to Second Round action after defeating Marquette (23-9) in the First Round 25-21, 22-25, 25-19, and 25-20 Dec. 1...the Cougars take on host, No. 3 seed Wisconsin (26-4) 25-11, 25-18, 25-10 winners over Howard University (26-6) in the First Round...the match takes place in the Wisconsin Field House (capacity 6,012) in Madison...WSU-Wisconsin match will be Friday, Dec. 2, at 4 p.m. PT...WSU's 22 wins is tied for fifth-best all-time in WSU history with the 1988 team...this is the most wins in a season since the 2002 season's 24 wins...this is the 11th trip to the NCAA Tournament for the WSU volleyball program and the first under sixth-year WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny...the WSU volleyball NCAA matches, called by Steve Grubbs, can be heard live on KQQQ 1150AM radio and online at wsucougars.com...the Friday, Dec. 2 No. 25 WSU at No. 3 Wisconsin match will be telecast live on the B1G Network.

COUGARS TABBED FOR PAC-12 HONORS
WSU's Jen Greeny was named the 2016 Pac-12 Coach of the Year...she is the third WSU coach to receive the conference COY honor....Krya Holt repeated as All-Pac-12 First Team selection...earning All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors were Taylor Mims and Casey Schoenlein.

Pac-12 All-Academic honors announced Dec. 1...WSU's First Team members are Casey Schoenlein and McKenna Woodford...Second Team member is Hailey Bethune...Honorable mention team: Haley MacDonald, Claire Martin and Tani Stephens...WSU had six of the 57 student-athletes honored.
