Biography

SCHOENLEIN’S WSU CAREER. SENIOR (2017): Selected to U.S. Collegiate National Team - Minneapolis for summer 2017 training and matches…the CNT-Minneapolis squad is part of USA Volleyball’s High Performance pipeline and is considered a second tryout for the U.S. Women’s National Team.

JUNIOR (2016): ALL-PAC-12 HONORABLE MENTION TEAM...Pac-12 All-Academic First Team...along with Cougar teammate McKenna Woodford, among 12 chosen for the U.S. Collegiate National Team - Europe Tour that won the 12th Annual Global Challenge Tournament in Pula, Croatia in summer 2016…WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny was part of coaching staff....in 2016 tallied 21 kills and five blocks at Purdue Mortar Board Premier tournament...had 12 blocks and 15 kills in trio of wins at Long Beach State Mizuno tournament...in upset wins at No. 4 Washington and at No. 9 UCLA had 17 kills, hit .412 and 12 blocks...equaled career-high 11 kills (.333) at No. 9 UCLA...12 kills, hit .304, in win over No. 9 Stanford...career-high 15 kills in win over No. 25 Arizona, hit .419...in 2016 stats: 1.77 kps and 2.30 pps are fourth-best on team, and 0.94 bps is third-best...in 2015 played in 62 sets/18 matches...for 2016 season wrote/recorded blog called, Catchin’ Up with Casey...CAREER STATS (WSU rankings): 26 solo blocks (t-31st), 165 block assists (31st), 191 total blocks (t-30th).
 
SOPHOMORE (2015): Sat out first 12 matches with abdomen muscle injury...played in 62 sets/18 matches...career-high 11 kills, hit .435 and eight blocks at Oregon State 11/20...also eight blocks vs. No. 6 Stanford 11/15...four kills, three digs and six blocks vs. Utah 9/26...tallied four kills and five blocks at No. 11 UCLA 10/4...seven kills (.400) with six blocks vs. No. 14 Arizona 10/9...0.95 blocks per set was fourth-best on team...named to 2015 Pac-12 All-Academic First Team.
 
FRESHMAN (2014): Injured thumb during preseason practice...played in 22 sets in 2014...seven kills and hit .462 with four blocks vs. No. 23 Loyola Marymount 9/19...at No. 1 Stanford had four kills and hit .429...subbed in late vs. No. 11 Oregon for two strong kills on two attacks.
 
SCHOENLEIN’S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER. Earned nine letters at Newport High…four as an outside hitter for volleyball coach Steve Trachy…four as a center for basketball coach Travis Whitaker…one as a goalie for water polo coach Farrah Kunkel…three-time All-KingCo-4A league honorable mention selection in basketball…in 2012-13 season led state in blocked shots (120) and fifth in the state in rebounds (257)…in 2013-14 season led state in blocked shots with a 5.0 blocks per game average and had the fifth-best assists average of 3.5 per game…also a member of 2012 state champion water polo team and was named to the all-state first team…on the volleyball court, was four-year All-KingCo 4A volleyball selection and a two-time league Most Valuable Player…led the Knights volleyball team to three consecutive league titles…Newport finished fourth at the 2013 Washington state 4A Championships after a seventh-place finish in 2011…tallied four consecutive state 4A Championship tournament appearances which is unprecedented in school history….earned the individual Sportsmanship Award at two state volleyball tournaments…selected to the Seattle Times 2012 and 2013 All-Area Volleyball Teams…summer of 2011 won a first place qualifier for the USA Junior Beach Tour…nationally was a PrepVolleyball.com’s Top 50 Junior Recruits for 2012 and was No. 58 on the PrepVolleyball.com’s 2013 Senior Aces list…senior year stats included 343 kills, 205 digs, 77 aces and 28 blocks…attended USA Volleyball A2 High Performance Camp in summer 2013…two-year member of the Seattle Juniors Volleyball Club playing for coach Shannon Pratt.
 
PERSONAL. Born in March 1996, in Bellevue, Wash…name pronounced Shane-line…father Gary is an F.B.I. agent who was a competitive swimmer at USC…mother Kris works at the YMCA…older sister Braden…older brother Grant graduated from WSU in 2016 and is now the Volleyball Program's Technical Coordinator…high-achiever in the classroom with a 3.93 grade point average…majoring in Communication/Journalism and Media Production at WSU.
