Johnson, Weaver Receive Pac-12 All-Conference Honors

PULLMAN – Washington State senior Kaitlyn Johnson and freshman Morgan Weaver received All-Pac-12 Soccer honors, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.
 
Johnson was named to the 2016 All-Pac-12 Second Team while Weaver received All-Freshman honors.
 
A native of Torrance, Calif., Johnson, a senior forward, repeated as a member of the All-Pac-12 Second Team. She scored three goals on the season and assisted on a team-best six others, totaling 12 points, third on the team. She set a WSU school-record, and 2016 NCAA Division I best, with four assists in a 5-0 victory against North Dakota State. Her final goal of the season came in the win over Washington. Previously Johnson was an All-Pac-12 Second Team honoree in 2015.
 
Weaver, a freshman forward from University Place, Wash., was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team after leading WSU in goals (8) and points (17). She recorded the team's lone hat trick of the season with three goals against North Dakota State and then two goals against Seattle to cap a string of three matches where she had six goals. She had the game-winner in the second overtime in a 2-1 victory against Arizona State and had her lone assist in the Washington victory.
 
The Cougars (8-9-2, 3-7-1 Pac-12) concluded theirseason last week with a 2-0 victory over Washington at Lower Soccer Field. The win increased WSU's unbeaten streak against the Huskies to 13 straight, going 9-0-4 in that span.
