ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER LEAP FOR WSU IN NATIONAL STANDINGS
Make that three consective upset wins (UW, UCLA, Stanford) over Top 10 teams and the WSU volleyball team is ranked No. 10 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coachers Top 25 Poll for Week 6 (Oct. 3)...last week WSU was ranked No. 17, its first top 25 ranking since the 2009 season (21st was highest that year)...WSU's highest ranking was No. 5 in the Oct. 17, 1995 poll (when Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny and Asst. Coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt were Cougar starters)...other national rankings for Oct. 3: PrepVolleyball.com College Top 50 rankings, WSU is ranked No. 11th up from 13th last week...WSU is ranked No. 11 in the Rich Kern Poll, No. 5 in the Pablo Rankings, No. 9 in the RKPI, and 7th in the Massey Ratings.
