Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at Pac-12 Preview

KAILUA KONA, Hawaii – The Washington State women's golf team finished ninth (+37, 913) against several ranked opponents at the Pac-12 Preview, Tuesday, at Nanea Golf Club.

In the final tournament of the fall season, WSU finished behind seven ranked Pac-12 opponents, with No. 15 Arizona State winning the tournament with a three-round score of 878 (+2). No. 30 Arizona finished second (+5, 881), while No. 3 Stanford rounded out the top-three at 889 (+13).

Leading the team was junior Alivia Brown who tied for 15th place. Brown shot 3-over par in the third round and had a final score of 223 (+4). The Gig Harbor, Wash.- native finished 10 strokes back of tournament-champion Robynn Ree of USC.

In her best performance of the season, freshman Marie Lund-Hansen tied for 28th with a three-round score of 229 (+10).  Lund-Hansen finished one stroke ahead of sophomore Madison Odiorne who tied for 32nd place (+11, 230). Odiorne shot even-par in the final round with three birdies on the back nine.  

Senior Cherokee Kim tied for 36th after shooting 12-over through three rounds (231). Junior Bree Wanderscheid had a final score of 241 (+22) and tied for 53rd place.

The conclusion of the tournament marks the end of WSU's fall season. The Cougars will return for the spring season Feb. 11-12, at Stanford, Calif., for the Peg Barnard Invitational.
