PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Head Coach Lisa Hart has signed Lejla Colic to a National Letter of Intent, it was announced Monday.

Colic, from Sarajevo, Bosnia, plans to enroll for the start of the 2016 fall semester, where she will join Gizem Ates and Ege Tomey as part of the incoming class for Cougar tennis.

"Coach Cambier and I had the opportunity to spend a great deal of time with Lejla during the recruiting process and we are thrilled with her decision to join the Cougar Family,” said Hart. “Lejla is an accomplished tennis player and we look forward to her contributing immediately in both our singles and doubles lineup.  However, we are even more excited about her dedication and commitment on a daily basis to being the best she can be.”

Colic has been one of the top junior players in Bosnia over the past six years, reaching No. 1 in her age group in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014. She was also a member of the Bosnian national team from 2010-2014 for her age group.

“We are confident that along with our returners Lejla will help our team reach a higher level on and off the court,” said Hart. “We are so excited for her to arrive in Pullman and get started.”
