PULLMAN, Wash. -- The final 2015 Washington State University volleyball Summer Camps are this week on the Pullman campus, WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny said Tuesday.
This is the fourth consecutive summer Greeny and her staff have conduct a Youth Camp, an Individual All-Skills Camp, and a High School Team Camp/Tournament in Pullman, in addition to the satellite camps held earlier in the Tri-Cities and Spokane Valley.
The June half-day Youth Camp had 45 grade school-aged participants learning the fundamental volleyball skills in a fun and enjoyable setting.
There are 120 campers at the Individual All-Skills Camp currently underway in the Cougars' home court at Bohler Gym, the PEB gyms and Smith Gym. This camp features a ratio of six campers to one coach and provides individualized instruction to suit players of all abilities.
There will be more than 310 players at the Team Camp, and 30 high school squads at the Team Tournament, July 15-18. Coach Greeny is excited to share her team training techniques with these high school volleyball programs. The WSU coaching staff will be joined by current and former student-athletes and other experienced Cougar Camp coaches to guide the high school teams through the ultimate collegiate volleyball experience. This camp provides valuable preseason individual development and team-building through guided practice sessions and match experience.
The dates for the 2016 Cougar Volleyball Summer Camps are: Youth Camp for grades K-6, June 23-24; Individual All-Skills Camp for grades 7-12, July 10-13; High School Team Camp and Team Tournament, July 13-16; and High School Team Tournament, July 15-16.
