HENDERSON'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
GENERAL: A star athlete for the Puyallup High Vikings, earning a total of nine varsity letters… played three years on the diamond for coach Marc Wiese, three on the hardwood as a guard for coach John Wetterahurer, and three years in football as a wide receiver/safety for coach Jeff Gardner... FRESHMAN: Participated in the prestigious Area Code games in Long Beach, Calif… began his three year career with Chaffey Baseball, playing with current Cougs Steve Curran, Zach Bode and Ryan Smith... SOPHOMORE: Named second-team all-SPSL as a wide receiver… team went on to State quarter-finals… in baseball named all-SPSL and all-area… returned to play in the Area Code games in San Diego, Calif... JUNIOR: Repeated as a second-team selection at wide receiver in the SPSL… on the diamond picked up several awards including all-SPSL, SPSL MVP, all-area by the Tacoma News Tribune, Team One showcase in Tampa, Fl., 1998 Area Code games participant, and TNT Player of the Year… played varsity basketball… SENIOR: Capped an illustrious high school football career by being named the SPSL Offensive MVP… also honored as a duel first-team selection at safety and wide receiver… averaged 20.2 yards per catch in senior season and had 38 receptions for 768 yards and 8 TD… first-team All-State by TNT and Seattle P-I… Seattle P-I Red Chip and TNT N.W. Nuggett Honorable Mention… PHS advanced to the State quarter-finals… in baseball earned all-SPSL, all-area, and all-State honors… finished second in MVP honors to WSU teammate Garrett Alwert… hit .522 with two home runs and eight triples… named team captain for third consecutive year… played summer ball with Olympia Pepsi in which he hit over .500 and was named to an all-tournament team three times.
HENDERSON'S WASHINGTON STATE CAREER
FRESHMAN (1999-00): Enrolled in August… was a key wide receiver and punt return specialist for the Cougar football team… in his freshman year on the gridiron he caught 20 passes for 175 total yards with one touchdown… as a punt returner he averaged 8.3 yards with a long return of 21 yards… he also threw a touchdown pass.
SOPHOMORE (2000-01): V-letter…played in all 11 games and was the starting slotback in the final eight games…named to the All-Pac-10 Academic first team…caught 14 passes for 150 yards and one touchdown…also WSU's top punt returner, bringing back 15 punts for 91 yards…his only score of the year came on a pass play against Boise State when he had three catches for 49 yards…also threw four times, completing all four for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns…his first TD pass was a 33-yarder against Idaho and the second was a 35 yarder at Oregon State.
JUNIOR (2001-02): V-letter…12 starts…against Sun Devils caught a halfback pass from Dave Minnich for WSU's final score in a 28-16 win…also returns punts, a team-leading 16 for 92 yards (5.8 average)…threw a 71-yard TD pass to Nakoa McElrath against Boise State and a 62-yarder to Mike Bush against Stanford…after two years at slotback, moved to an outside position in fall camp.
FOOTBALL CAREER: Has thrown eight passes in career, all complete, for 374 yards and five touchdowns…has made 19 consecutive starts and 24 total in 34 games…has 43 career receptions for 408 yards and three touchdowns.
BASEBALL RS-SOPHOMORE (2001-02): Turned out for football in early February after the Cougars lost two outfielders…first baseball action since senior year in high school.

Collin Henderson… born 11-04-79 at Lakewood, Wash.…parents Susan and Jerry Henderson, both WSU graduates… his grandparents and a couple of aunts and uncles are also WSU grads… father was a quarterback for the Cougs from 1965-68, and the school record holder with 3,411 career passing yards… father earned his undergraduate, MS and Ph.D. degrees from WSU… older brother Pat is a walk-on wide receiver with the Cougars… enjoys music and reading… prep GPA of 3.85 and member of National Honor Society… member of Student Counsel, Viking Nights, Big Brothers-Sisters, Homecoming King, Tacoma Athletic Commission award winner… National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete honoree.
