PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State's Hank Frame shot 1-under par through two rounds during the first day of the Palouse Collegiate Invitational, Monday at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

Frame carded a 2-under 69 in the morning and shot 1-over 72 in the afternoon to sit in a three-way tie for fifth. Frame collected eight birdies to lead Washington State into a tie for second place with Idaho at 4-over (572). The Cougars and Vandals each trail tournament-leader San Jose State by nine strokes entering the final 18 holes, Tuesday.

Idaho's Jarred Bossio fired a 6-under 65 in the first round and followed with a 3-under 68 for a two-round score of 9-under (133). He leads Seattle's Ian Dahl by six strokes.

Branden Dalton of Washington State is tied for 19th at 2-over (144). Cougar Kyle Hurt, playing as an individual, is tied for 14th at 1-over (143).

Washington State's Trent Sanders and Cody Robinson are just outside the top 20 at 3-over (145). Sang Lee, playing as an individual for the Cougars, is tied for 29th at 4-over (146).

The final round begins at 7:15 a.m., Tuesday.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
Idaho and San Jose State tied for the third-best first round and fourth-best overall round in tournament history at 278...Vandal Jarred Bossio's first round 65 was one shot shy of the tournament record.
