PULLMAN, Wash. - Members of the Washington State tennis team advanced to Sunday's finals in all four singles and one doubles flight during day two of the Cougar Classic at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

"We are thrilled to be represented in all four singles finals," head coach Lisa Hart said. "I am proud of our player's effort Saturday and excited about the opportunity Sunday."

In No. 1 singles, sophomore Ekaterina Kamendova earned a spot in the finals with a victory over Boise State's Jane Mackova, 6-1, 7-5.

Freshman Elisabeth Fournier will represent the Cougars in the finals of the No. 2 singles flight. She posted and impressive victory over Portland's Stefanie Doolittle, 6-0, 6-2. Aleksandra Cekic fell in the semifinals after a tough battle against Boise State's Rocio Frej, 6-4, 6-4.

Two Cougars will battle it out for the flight 3 singles championship. Jessica Gomez picked up a victory over Montana's Amanda Bran, 6-3, 7-5, while Marina Nicolas downed Montana State's Mckenzie Hilmer, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the finals.

At No. 4 singles, Livia Gherman propelled herself into the finals with an impressive win over Montana State's Lauren Thigpen, 6-3, 6-3.

Teammates Aleksandra Cekic and Elisabeth Fournier will compete in the No. 2 doubles final after defeating Gonzaga's Sophie Lantta and Madeline Parker, 8-3.

Play will resume Sunday September 21, at 9 a.m.
