PULLMAN, Wash. (Nov. 13, 2025) – Washington State Tennis has signed three players, Katiana Gonzalez, Clara-Marie Schön and Ava-Monet Sycamore to Financial Aid Agreements, Head Tennis Coach
Josh Graetz announced Thursday.

Sycamore will join the team in January and compete during the 2026 spring season. Gonzalez and Schön will join the Cougars in the fall of 2026.

Sycamore arrives in Pullman from Sydney, Australia. During her junior career, she captured the J60 ITF event in Lautoka, Fiji, winning all four matches in straight sets. She also captured three ITF doubles titles, including back-to-back titles for J60- Lautoka, Fiji events, and a J60 tournament in Darwin, Australia. She also won the Australian National Doubles U16 title in 2023 and was a finalist in 2023. Sycamore currently has a WTA singles ranking of 1197, 1193 in doubles, and a 172 ITF ranking. She plans to pursue a degree in marketing and international business.

"We are really excited to have Ava joining us this upcoming spring," said Graetz. "She has a big game, curiosity to learn and plenty of potential to develop. Ava has strong competition experience which will only help her transition into the college tennis system."

Gonzalez, a five-star recruit, will arrive in Pullman from Houston, Texas, where she attended Texas Connections Academy in Houston. Gonzalez has enjoyed a stellar junior career, reaching a career-best USTA junior ranking of No. 2 in the state of Texas and No. 15 nationally. She has reached the singles final at a J30 event and captured doubles titles at J60 and J30 events. She plans to pursue a degree in sport management.

"We can't wait to have Kat join our program next fall," Graetz said. "She has an infectious personality and we know how excited she is to officially become a Coug. Not only will she bring great energy, but she knows how to compete and has been in a structured tennis training environment at Newks Tennis Academy."

Schön hails from Dresden, Germany and will arrive in Pullman next fall. She attends Sportsgymnasium in Dresden, where she has enjoyed a stellar junior career, attaining a No.7 U18 junior ranking in Germany, winning multiple national-level junior tournaments. Currently has a German women's national ranking of 92. Her academic interests at WSU include media, marketing and international business.

"Clara will be a great addition to the program next fall," said Graetz. "She is a great mover, can ball strike off both sides and has strong doubles IQ. What impresses us most about Clara is her kindness, team first approach and family values. She will fit in great at Wazzu."
