Cougar Women on Hot Start at Duck Invitational

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. - The Washington State Women's Golf team is off to an impressive 2nd place team finish after the first day of the Oregon Duck Invitational, held at the par-72, 6,096 yard Shadow Hills Country Club golf course, March 26.

Sophomore Amy Eneroth leads the pack of Cougars with a 3rd place finish after the first two rounds of play. Eneroth began the first round with an impressive score of 73 and rounded out the second round with a score of 77, giving her a score of 150 (+6).

Not far behind Eneroth is junior Tracy Broders, who finished the first day in a two way tie for 5th. Broders shot a consistent score of 76 in both the first and second rounds, landing her with a score of 152 (+8). Also in the top-25 for the Cougars is sophomore Jessica Black in 15th. Black shot first and second round scores of 78 and 79 respectively, leaving her with a score of 157 (+13) after the first day of competition.

Junior Brooke Henderson and freshman Diana Hong round out the Cougar contingent, posting finishes of 29th and 39th respectively. Henderson began with a first round score of 79 before dropping to 83 in the second round. After the first day she recorded a score of 162 (+18). Hong completed the first day of play with a score of 164 (+20).

As a team the Cougars shot a first round score of 306 and a second round score of 312, leaving them with a first day total of 618. The team currently has sole possession of 2nd place. The Cougars will complete the third round of tournament play tomorrow morning with a start time of 9 a.m.
