PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State women's team won all six singles matches and captured the doubles point to defeat to the University of Portland Pilots, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the Hollingbery Fieldhouse.

The Cougars (5-0 overall, 0-0 Pac-10) began the match 1-0 after taking two out of three double matches from Portland (3-2 overall, 0-0 Pac-10).

Junior Ekaterina Burduli and partner Aleksandra Stefanova picked up an 8-2 victory against Lindsey Griffin and Audree Jenks in the No. 1 slot. Aleksandra Cekic and Bianca Selaru secured the doubles point in the No. 3 slot, as they defeated Christina Feyen and Katie Kennel, 8-5.

In singles play, Burduli eased by Jenna Tanzer in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 1 slot. Burduli improved to 14-4 on the season, a team best. Marjolein van de Ven put the Cougars ahead 3-0 in the match after knocking off Christina Feyen 6-0, 6-1, in the No. 3 slot.

Senior Amy Toth clinched the match for WSU after her straight-set victory over Lindsey Griffin, 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot. Toth is 5-0 in dual matches and brings her career win total to 67, which places her ninth on the WSU all-time wins list.

Bianca Selaru had to use a comeback in her 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 defeat of Megan Sporndli. Selaru dropped the second set to force a third set. Down 4-2 in the final set, Selaru claimed the next four games to seal her match and increased WSU's lead to five.

Stefanova captured her 10th victory of the season in the No. 5 slot as she clipped Audree Jenks, 6-0, 6-1 and teammate Anastesia Opata earned her first collegiate dual match victory, 7-6, 6-2 in the No. 6 slot to increase WSU's margin of victory.

The Cougars return to the Hollingbery Fieldhouse for a doubleheader, Saturday, Feb. 3. Up first for WSU will be Nevada at 11 a.m. and Idaho at 5 p.m.
