STANFORD, Calif. -- Top-ranked Stanford remained undefeated with a 7-0 Pacific-10 Conference win over Washington State, ranked 62nd, Friday afternoon.
The Cardinal opened the day sweeping three doubles matches including an upset of Washington State 49th-ranked duo Lorena Arias and Anna Dybicz. Sarah Pestieau and Keiko Tokuda knocked off the Cougars number three team 8-2.
Stanford won five of the six singles matches in straight sets. At number one singles, Laura Granville, ranked 20th nationally, defeated the Cougars Erica Perkins, ranked 51st nationally, 6-2, 6-3.
The only singles player to win a set for the Cougars was Moniek van de Ven at number six in a 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 loss to Emilia Anderson.
WSU plays at fifth-ranked California, Saturday at noon.
