PULLMAN, Wash. - Former Washington State quarterback Jeff Tuel has agreed to sign a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills and will participate in their Rookie Mini-Camp May 10-12, the organization announced Monday.
Tuel passed for 5,936 yards and 33 touchdowns while appearing in 31 games, making 26 starts in his four seasons at Washington State. The Fresno, Calif. native left WSU first in career completion percentage (61.4), fifth in completions (531), sixth in passing attempts (865), seventh in passing yards, seventh in passing touchdowns, seventh in total offense (5,878) and eighth in touchdowns responsible for (35). Tuel recorded five career 300-yard games and 11 multiple-touchdown performances. He earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors as a sophomore in 2010 after starting all 12 games and throwing for 2,780 yards and 18 touchdowns.
As a senior, Tuel appeared in 10 games, starting seven and led WSU with 2,091 passing yards while posting the second-highest single-season completion percentage (63.7) in WSU history. He recorded three 300-yard games including a 403-yard game at No. 19 Stanford and capped his career with a 350-yard performance in the Apple Cup victory over Washington.
