Hayden Driggs completed his first season as the Cougars’ Director of Player Development after joining Nathan Choate’s coaching staff in June of 2025.
In his first season at WSU, Driggs helped the Cougars to a 2026 Mountain West Conference Championship and the program’s first trip back to the NCAA Tournament since 2010. Washington State finished the season with a 31-28 record, the most wins since the 2010 season, including WSU’s first conference championship since 1976. Five players earned All-Mountain West Conference honors led by Conference Pitcher of the Year Nick Lewis, WSU’s first conference pitcher of the year in program history. Lewis later earned All-Region honors, the Cougars first All-Region pitcher since 1993, and also won the national Gold Glove Award for a pitcher, just the second Gold Glove Award in program history (Paul Gran, 3B, 2008). In the classroom, WSU set a program record with a 3.45 team GPA in the 2025 fall semester, notched a 3.39 team GPA this past spring.
Driggs completed his playing career at Saint Mary’s in 2025, helping the Gaels to a West Coast Conference Championship and a trip the NCAA Tournament. The former catcher appeared in 68 games with 18 starts, scored 12 runs, homered twice and drove in 14 runs over his three seasons at SMC. Driggs closed his career with a home run against eight-ranked Oregon State in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
The Madera, Calif. native earned his bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College in June of 2025.
