Biography
JUNIOR (2018-19) – Played 25 games for the Cougars with four starts…averaged 6.0 points per game, along with 1.6 3-pointers per game…scored 11 points in WSU’s second game of the season against Seattle U (Nov. 14)…had a season-high 4 made 3-pointers against CSUN (Nov. 27) for 12 points…had back-to-back games in double figures beginning with 10 points in a career-high 35 minutes against San Diego (Dec. 22) at the Las Vegas Classic…was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point range to tie his season high with 14 points against New Mexico State in the Las Vegas Classic (Nov. 23)...scored a season Pac-12 high 9 points in WSU’s Pac-12 opener at Washington (Jan. 5).
SOPHOMORE (2017-18) – Played in all 31 games for the Cougars, starting 11… 8.2 points per game were fourth-best on the team…ranked third on the team and ninth in the Pac-12 with 2.2 3-pointers per game (69 total)…ranked third on the team and 11th in the conference with a .404 (69-171) 3-point field goal percentage…was tied for first on the team and tied for sixth in the league with 2.3 3-pointers made in Pac-12 games only…in just his second career game, went 7-for-8 from 3-point range for a career-high 26 points against Seattle U (Nov. 15)…had his second-consecutive game with 7 rebounds, tying his career high…returned to double-figure scoring for the first of four-straight games in double figures with 24 against Kansas State (Dec. 20), going 6-for-10 from 3-point range…scored 17 points in his first Pac-12 game (at UCLA, Dec. 29), following that up with 18 points at USC (Dec. 29)…made 5 3-pointers in each of those games…dished out a career-high 3 assists against Washington (Jan. 6)…made 5 3-pointers at Colorado (Jan. 18) on his way to 17 points…had 9 double-figure scoring games through the season (including two 20-plus games), leading WSU in scoring twice and rebounding once…ranks on WSU’s sophomore single-season list for 3-point field goals (third – 69), 3-point field goal attempts (third – 171) and 3-point field goal percentage (seventh – .404).
PRIOR TO WSU – Spent the 2016-17 season at Chipola College in Florida…as a FRESHMAN, led team with 65 made 3-point field goals, as well as 3-point field goal percentage at .404 percent…averaged 7.7 points per game in 30 outings, including two starts…shot .733 from the free throw line and .421 from the field…team went 22-8…prior to Chipola, played one season at Bridgton Academy in Maine where he earned NEPSAC All-New England Class AAA Second Team honors.
HIGH SCHOOL – Earned four letters in basketball, two at Pioneer HS and two at Logansport HS, playing for his head coach, and father, Pat Skaggs his final two seasons…combined to score 1,587 career points (773 at Pioneer HS and 814 at Logansport), while sinking 252 career 3-pointers which ranked seventh in Indiana state history…as a SENIOR at Logansport HS (2014-15), averaged 16.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, as the Berries compiled a 21-4 record, their best mark since 1961.
PERSONAL – Born Carter Woodrow Skaggs, Nov. of 1995 at Danville, Ill….father Pat is an administrator and basketball coach and played basketball at the University of Indianapolis, mother Leslie is a teacher…has a younger brother, Jack, and younger sister, Sam…enjoys golfing, fishing and being around family and friends…majoring in sociology at WSU.
