Will Cresswell was named to the Buster Posey Award Midseason Watch List Friday afternoon.

Cresswell is one for 56 catchers up for the award given to the nation's Division I collegiate catcher of the year, as voted by head coaches and sports information directors.

The senior catcher is having a breakout season, leading the team with a .378 batting average and 36 RBI to go along with 11 doubles and four home runs while is 11 runners caught stealing at tied for second-most in the Mountain West Conference. Cresswell enters the weekend pacing the league with a .458 batting average and 30 RBI in conference games.

Semifinalists will be announced May 19, finalist voting begins May 27, finalists will be announced June 5 and the winner will be announced June at the Buster Posey Award Ceremony in Wichita, Kan.
