Larripa Taxell Completes First Day of Decathlon at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – Freshman Erik Larripa Taxell was the lone Cougar to compete Wednesday as he finished Day 1 of the decathlon at the 2025 Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
 
Following the first five events, Larripa Taxell is 19th in the field after competing in the 100m, Long Jump, Shot Put, High Jump, and 400m. His best finishes were 17th in both the shot put (11.83m) and 400-meter race (51.68).
 
Day 2 of the decathlon will be contested Thursday with Larripa Taxell competing in the 110m Hurdles, Discus, Pole Vault, Javelin and 1500m.

The Cougs will continue their week at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational, Thursday with the continuation of the Texas Relays Decathlon at 8 a.m. PT.
