Volleyball Signs Melina Christodoulou on for 2025

PULLMAN, Wash. (February 11, 2025) – Washington State Women's Volleyball Head Coach Korey Schroeder and the staff have announced the addition of Melina Christodoulou, an outside hitter who transfers in from the University of Akron, and will be playing as a graduate student in 2025.

Christodoulou is an outside hitter who transfers to the Palouse from Akron where she has spent the past two years, after having previously played at Iowa Western as a sophomore, and at Hutchinson Community College as a freshman.

This past season as a senior, she played in 27 matches, spanning 108 sets, and recorded 347 kills, 44 total blocks, 371.5 points, 72 digs and nine assists. She put up a career-high 22 kills in a match against Miami (OH) during the season in which she had 20 matches with double-digit kills, including two with 20+.

As a junior at Akron she appeared in 14 matches and started 10, recording 89 kills and averaging 1.89 kills per set. Defensively she recorded 24 total blocks and had season-highs with five blocks and 16 kills at Miami (OH).

She spent her sophomore year at Iowa Western, playing in 18 matches and averaging 2.8 kills per set, and her freshman season at Hutchinson Community College playing in 16 matches and averaging 1.4 kills per set.

Melina has created her own unique volleyball story that now gets to continue at Washington State."
