Wazzu and Georgia have never met in women's soccer. Against the Southeastern Conference, WSU holds a record of 7-8-3, most recently defeating Texas A&M, 3-2, in College Station, Aug. 20, 2023 with current senior Grayson Lynch scoring a brace in the road win. Under Coach Shulenberger the Cougars are 2-2-1 against current SEC opponents.

Cougar soccer was named No. 21 on SoccerWire's list of the Top 50 most successful women's soccer programs in the country over the last five years.

Last time on the pitch vs Georgia Southern, the Cougars got back to winning way with 1-0 victory over the Eagles in Athens, Thursday afternoon. Lindsey Turner scored her first goal of the season, a 50th minute header on a cross from Alena Watts for her first-career assist in a return to Georgia.

Grayson Lynch made her 85th career match appearance in Thursday's win over Georgia Southern, moving her into a seventh-place tie in school history with Morgan Weaver and Aaqila McLyn. If Lynch plays in all remaining regular season matches, she will finish second in all-time WSU matches played with 97 behind Sydney Pulver at 98 career games played as a Coug.

Nadia Cooper earned career shutout No. 16 and picked up her 29th career win with Thursday's cleansheet. Cooper moved into a tie with Lindsey Jorgensen for fourth in WSU history career GK wins.

Lindsey Turner scored her first goal of the season, delivering the game-winning header in the 51st minute. The goal from the fifth-year senior marked her second career Cougar goal and third all-time collegiate goal after netting one at UC Riverside.

Head Coach Todd Shulenberger earned his 100th win Sunday, Aug. 25, with a 2-1 win against Idaho. Shulenberger became the 140th active head coach to reach 100 career wins and the 44th to hit the century mark at a single school.

Sophomore Alena Watts tallied her first career assist and first career point in Thursday's win over Georgia Southern. Watts, a Georgia native, served an aerial through ball into the Eagles' defensive area for Lindsey Turner to head home for the game-winner, giving Watts a homecoming memory and the game-winning assist in front of friends and family.

True freshman Kendall Campbell made her first college start at No. 2 Stanford. The California native has started three games and has played in every match. Campbell scored her first collegiate goal against Montana, netting the second goal in a 3-0 win in the home opener.

Cougs continue to be everywhere as Washington State faces a pair of familiar faces on the Georgia bench. The Bulldogs are led by former Cougar head coach Keidane McAlpine, who made his high major coaching debut in Pullman over two seasons before a stop at Southern California on his way to Athens. Georgia is led on the field by fifth-year senior transfer Margie Detrizio, who played four seasons for Coach Shulenberger from 2020-23 and would have been WSU's top returning goal scorer, assist leader, and point getter. Detrizio, who is utilizing the COVID NCAA Eligibility Relief Program, is the Bulldogs leading scorer with five goals and one assist.

Shevaun Judon and Ashly Berge made their first WSU starts in last Sunday's draw with UCSD. Judon made her first start in 1,060 days, last starting for Liberty at North Florida, Oct. 14, 2021. Berge made her first start in 689 days, last starting for Boise State vs New Mexico, Oct. 10, 2022.

Nadia Cooper was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 26 for her performances in home wins over Montana and Idaho. Cooper eclipsed 5,000 career minutes played, moved to sixth in school history with 176 career saves, and fifth with 28 career wins and 15 career shutouts. The honor was Cooper's third career weekly conference honor, having been named Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week twice as a freshman in 2021.

The West Coast Conference welcomed Washington State as an affiliate member in women's soccer for the 2024 and 2025 soccer seasons, alongside Oregon State. The Cougars will be eligible for the WCC's automatic NCAA Tournament bid and compete in the Conference alongside top-25 teams in Santa Clara and Pepperdine.

In the WCC Preseason Coaches Poll, the Cougars were selected to finish second, behind nationally-ranked Santa Clara and ahead of nationally-ranked Pepperdine.

Two Cougars earned WCC preseason honors with redshirt-fifth-year senior forward Grayson Lynch and sophomore midfielder Reagan Kotschau named to the WCC Preseason Team.

Six Cougs have debuted this season, with four debuts in the season opener at Purdue, August 15. Transfers Julianna Duckett and Maggie Mace made their Wazzu debuts in the starting lineup. Ashly Berge made her Cougar debut as a substitute in the 31st minute and true freshman Kendall Campbell entered as a first-half sub. Fifth year transfers Sophie Beadle and Raniyah Burton both made WSU debuts in the home-opening win against Montana.

Match Milestones: In Thursday's match, Grayson Lynch tied Morgan Weaver and Aaqila McLyn with 85 games played, for seventh in WSU history; Julianna Duckett started her 60th career college match; and Ashly Berge played in her 60th collegiate match. With her next start Nadia Cooper will eclipse 60 career starts; with her next appearance Grayson Lynch will play her 86th game, moving into a fourth-place tie for most appearances in Cougar history.

Jenna Studer and Grayson Lynch returned from injury after 12 months away from the pitch. Studer returned for a full 90 shift in West Lafayette, 361 days removed from a season-ending injury at Texas A&M, Aug. 20, 2023. Lynch started up front for the first time in 357 days, having suffered an ACL injury in the win at Portland last August.

The Pac-12 Conference announced four expansion schools for the 2026-27 season, including Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, and San Diego State.
