Four Cougs Earn All-WCC Honors

PULLMAN, Wash. – Four members of the Washington State women's soccer team earned All-West Coast Conference honors, the League announced Wednesday morning. Senior Jordyn Young and sophomore Audrey Shackelford were named to the All-WCC Second Team. Redshirt-freshman Keira Mitchell earned WCC All-Freshman Team and senior Maggie Mace earned an All-WCC honorable mention nod.

Young and Shackelford led the Cougars in the attack with Young netting a team-best six goals and one assist. The Martinez, California senior finished with 13 points on a team-high 41 shots, including game-winning goals against San Diego and San Francisco. Shackelford delivered four assists on the season, adding two goals in five shots on target. The Sacramento, California sophomore played a full 90 minutes on 10 occasions, and delivered game-winning assists over LMU and San Francisco.

Mitchell continued a streak of Cougar freshman on the conference all-freshman team, a five-year streak, that continued with Mitchell's four goals and one assist during her inaugural season. The Henderson, Nevada redshirt finished second on the team in scoring as a defensive midfielder with game-winners against Seattle U and Oregon State. Mitchell played a full 90 in 14 of 17 matches and played more minutes of any Cougar freshman.

Mace earned All-WCC Honorable Mention as the Cougars starting centerback throughout her final season. Mace finished her career having played every game of her career, and led WSU in minutes played during her senior year. Mace delivered her first career Cougar goal and added a second, both from the penalty spot. The senior also led the Cougar backline with three different keepers throughout the season, helping the Cougs maintain a 0.84 GAA, the sixth best defensive average in WSU history and the best since 2021.

The 2025 Washington State soccer season concluded with the Cougars finishing 7-7-5 and 5-4-2 in the West Coast Conference. WSU finished at or above .500 for the ninth-consecutive season in Coach Shulenberger's 11th year at the helm of the Cougar program.
