So, unfortunately, last year you went out with an injury. How has your recovery been?
I think anyone who's gone through it would say there are definitely ups and downs, but overall it's been pretty smooth. I think I've made, like, really good jumps to getting back on the field. So that's been good.
Who or what has been your biggest help with that?
My biggest help has probably just been, like, the support staff we have around and my teammates, 'cause there are a lot of people on our team who have also gone through it. Jenna Studer is the main person I lean on and look to as I go through it.
New coach this year. How has the team environment been?
It's been really upbeat. They brought the whole coaching staff and brought a lot of energy to it, and it's been really good so far. And I know they're excited for our spring games coming up and then for the fall to start, but it's been really, really cool.
What has been your favorite soccer memory? So far, and like collegiate or youth?
Even though I've only been able to compete for one game in the fall, just being thrown into that competitive environment has been something that I've loved, because that's something you look forward to growing up and through high school, so even getting it for one game, I have a lot of gratitude towards the one game I got.
What do you think your biggest strengths are on the field?
I'm pretty physical on the field, and I think my IQ for the game and how I play it are my biggest strengths. I have a lot of confidence in myself on the field. Going into it confidently and being able to play my game is kind of just like one of my biggest strengths.
What are you looking forward to most this coming season?
Getting back onto the field and then there's a lot of new people to play with, a new environment, but being able to compete again and pulling myself to a high standard, being better than I was last fall.
What is your current hyperfixation?
Honestly, probably just being outside. It's so nice out right now, so we're always just like being outside as much as I can. The Pullman weather is so up-and-down. Being outside and listening to like Hawaiian music right now.
What are 3 words you would use to describe this team?
Electric. Competitive for sure. And family. Everyone's so close, and I think that's what allows us to be those other things.
Who has influenced your development the most as a player?
I don't know if it was exactly one person, but I'm from Clarkson, a small town, so just the people I've met. Being from a small place, it's just, like, I feel like everyone has had an impact on who I have become growing up. So a handful of people, like my parents, my coaches, and especially coaches I met in Spokane through club, definitely pushed me to be the player I am now.
What is your pre-match superstition?
I always have to have a piece of gum when I'm playing. It's just that I always have to have gum.
