PULLMAN, Wash. – Traveling up the road to Coeur D'Alene, ID to compete in the CDA Resort Collegiate hosted by Gonzaga, the Washington State women's golf team currently sits in a tie for fourth place after day one on the Coeur D'Alene Resort Golf Course. Leading the way for the Cougs was senior
Marie Lund-Hansen as she finished within striking distance of the lead after 36 holes of play at even-par, good enough for sole possession of second place.

"The players fought hard today," said head coach Kelli Kamimura. "The conditions were tough, but we stayed focused on what we can control. We have made some adjustments for tomorrow and look forward to going out and competing tough."
After a great performance at the Cougar Cup to open the season, Lund-Hansen was able to continue her excellent play, shooting both rounds at par of 71 for a combined score of 142. Lund-Hansen picked up where she left off using her distance to lead the tournament on par-5 holes shooting five-under. She also finished the day tied for the tournament lead with two eagles in her 36 holes played. Her score of 142 put her in second place and only two strokes behind Gonzaga's Jessica Mangrobang who went two-under in the afternoon to grab the lead in the clubhouse.

In second for the Cougars, freshman
Jiye Ham finished her day six strokes behind Lund-Hansen. She carded a 148 (+6) through 36 holes and finished tied for 28th. Just one stroke behind Ham was sophomore
Amy Chu carding a 149 (+7) to end the two rounds in a tie for 33rd. Chu had the best round of golf on the day for the Cougs shooting a team low 70 (-1) in the first round of action. It was her first round under-par on the year in five rounds of play. Junior
Emily Baumgart ended two strokes back, scoring a 151 (+9), tied for 52nd, while sophomore
Darcy Habgood posted a score of 152 (+10, tied for 58th. Overall the Cougars sit in a tie for fourth place shooting a 585 (+17) through two rounds.

Gonzaga currently leads the tournament with a score of 571 (+3), 12 strokes ahead of the pack.

Competition continues Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7:45 a.m. The Cougs will play alongside of BYU and Florida International beginning on holes 4-7.
