LOS ANGELES – Washington State dropped a 10-1 contest to USC at Dedeaux Field Friday evening.
The Cougars received a three-hit performance from
Dillon Plew and an impressive relief appearance from freshman righthander
Connor Barison who worked a career-high 3.1 scoreless innings, matched a career high with strikeouts and allowed just two hits. USC collected 10 hits and received a solid start from lefthander from Isaac Esqueda who worked six scoreless innings and struck out six.
USC used a two-out RBI-single to push a run across in the first inning but erupted for five runs on four hits and an error for a 6-0 advantage. The Trojans added a run in the third, two more in the fourth and another in the fifth.
In the eighth, the Cougars loaded the bases with two outs and scored a run on a USC passed ball.
