Schoenlein Signs Pro Contract With The Sta. Lucia Realtors

The former WSU standout looks to take her talents to the Philippine Superliga.

MANILA, Philippines – The former Washington State Volleyball stand-out, Casey Schoenlein, signed a professional contract with the Sta. Lucia Realtors of the Philippine SuperLiga. 

The opposite from Bellevue, Wash., was a dominate force during her years with the Cougars, helping lead WSU Volleyball to back-to-back NCAA Championship Tournament appearances in both 2016, and 2017. Schoenlein was selected for two U.S. Collegiate National Teams, the first in 2016 where she competed in the 12th Annual Global Challenge Tournament in Pula, Croaita. The second appearance for Casey included competing with the U.S. National Team - Minneapolis which is part of USA Volleyball's High Performance pipeline.

Casey was one of four players in WSU history to earn Pac-12 All-Academic First Team as well as All-Pac-12 First Team or Honorable Mention honors, and is also one of only four players in program history to earn back-to-back First Team All-Academic honors as well. She was a three-time First Team Pac-12 All-Academic selection, the 2017 Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and during her 2016 All-Pac-12 season, Casey totaled 226 kills, 120 total blocks, and 16 solo blocks for the Cougars during the 2016 season as well. 

She concluded her time with Washington State Volleyball as a student coach during the 2018 season, which saw the Cougars earn a third straight NCAA Tournament birth, along with earning the number 16 overall seed in the tournament, and hosting the opening two rounds as well before advancing to the Sweet Sixteen. 

Schoenlein now joins the Sta. Lucia Realtors, who are currently competing in round one of the Philippine SuperLiga Grand Prix, which includes seven total matches to open up the tournament.
