Cougars Finish Fall Season at Nanea Pac-12 Preview

KAILUA KONA, Hawaii – The Washington State Women's Golf team wrapped up its fall season with an 11th-place finish at the 2019 Pac-12 Preview played at the Nanea Golf Club. The Cougars carded a three-round total score of 929 (+53) for the event.

Sophomore Darcy Habgood lead the Cougars through all three rounds of play. Habgood's four-over 77 was tied for WSU's best round of the day as she sank two birdies on the front nine after an up and down back nine. Habgood finished in a tie for 40th with a total score of 229 (+10). Senior Marie Lund-Hansen also carded a third-round score of 77 after making her only birdie on the day on her second hole of play, Lund-Hansen finished tied for 43rd and finished at 12-over 231.

One stroke behind was junior Emily Baumgart. Finishing with a five-over 78 on the round, Baumgart finished tied for 45th with a total score of 232 (+13). Freshman Jiye Ham finished in 52nd with a three-round total of 236 (+17). Sophomore Amy Chu tallied a 238 (+19) and finished 58th.

Arizona captured the team title by two strokes over UCLA and 10 strokes better than third-place Arizona State. Individually, Rino Sasaki from Washington finished at 9-under, 210, two-strokes better than UCLA's Ty Akabane and Mariel Galdiano.

The Pac-12 Preview concluded WSU's fall season and they are next in action in early February when they travel south to compete in the San Diego State Lamkin Match Play.
