Cougars Take Sixth in Coeur d'Alene

Senior Alivia Brown tied for 12th
COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho: The WSU women's golf team finished in 6th place out of the 18 team field after the third and final round of the CDA Resort Collegiate Invitational, September 26-27. The Cougars final score of 865(+13), held off 7th place finisher Indiana by one stroke (866, +14).
Senior Alivia Brown jumped up six spots after the third round, securing her finish in the top-25 in 12th place. Brown sat in 18th place after the first two rounds after marking a 69(-2) and a 73(+2). She shared her final score of 212(-1) with Anna Kennedy of Brigham Young and Brittany Fan of Colorado.
Two other Cougars join Brown in the top-25 at the conclusion of the tournament. Sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen tied with one other for 18th place overall. Lund-Hansen tallied a 75(+4) in the final round, bringing her total score to 215(+2). Senior Bree Wanderscheid tied for 20th place, going three over par (216) for the three rounds.
Redshirt freshman Emily Baumgart matched her first round score on the second day with a 75(+4). Baumgart concluded the tournament tied for 45th place with a 222(+9).
No. 22 Colorado claimed the tournament title with two players in the top three. Buffalo Kirsty Hodgkins took first place with a three round score of 203(-10). Teammate Robyn Choi followed behind in second at 207(-6).
The Cougars have completed play for the month of September, and will look ahead to the Ron Moore Invitational, October 6-7.Â
