BOULDER, Colo. – The Washington State men's golf team sits in 10th place through nearly two rounds of play, Friday, at the Pac-12 Championships.
After a 32-minute weather delay and snowy conditions, WSU was one of four teams to not finish the second round due to darkness. The Cougars shot 23-over par in the first round at the par-70 Boulder Country Club. No. 10 Oregon currently leads the 12-team field. In-state rival Washington and No. 8 Stanford round out the top-three, while California and USC are tied for fourth place.
In his first Pac-12 Championship appearance, freshman Daniel Kolar leads the Cougars and is in the top-25. After shooting a first-round 75, Kolar is tied for 25th through almost two rounds. The Australian-native has one hole left to play in the second round.
Juniors Zach Anderson and Brian Mogg are both tied for 36th place. Anderson has two holes left to play in the second round. Mogg completed the round and shot 4-over in the second round. The No. 1 golfer in the country, Oregon's Wyndham Clark, is tied for first with Carl Yuan of Washington.
Highlighted by three birdies on the front nine in the first round, sophomore Grant Cole is tied for 42nd. Cole shot 10-over through two rounds to end the day with a score of 150.
Junior Derek Bayley is tied for 49th with three holes left to play in the second round, while senior Nick Mandell is tied for 67th place (+15, 155).
The third round is set to begin Saturday at 9 a.m. PT/10 a.m. MT, and the final round will be played Sunday at 7 a.m. PT. Check golfstat.com for live scoring updates. A full recap will be posted at wsucougars.com at the end of the round.
