SEASIDE, Calif. (Oct. 21, 2025) – For the second-straight day, senior
Sam Renner led Washington State golf as he fired a 1-under, 71, Tuesday during second round play at the 2025 Saint Mary's Invitational, played on the 7,104-yard, par 72 Bayonet Golf Course.
As a team, the Cougars finished the second day at 11-over, 299, and have a 36-hole score of 12-over, 588, alone in 11th place overall. Arkansas State continues to lead the way at 12-under, while host Saint Mary's and Santa Clara are eight shots back tied for second.
Renner got off to a slow start Tuesday, with two bogeys on the front side to make the turn at 2-over. Her birdied four of the next five holes, mixed around a double-bogey on 12, before posting another birdie on 17 to finish his round at 1-under, 71. His 36-hole score of 6-under, 138, is one stroke off the individual lead.
Freshman
Dylan Boenning finished his second 18 holes with a 1-over, 73 Tuesday. Boenning's round included four birdies and five bogeys and his two-day score of 1-over, 145 has him tied for 22nd. Redshirt-junior
Ben Borgida started his second round at seven-over at the turn before rebounding with three birdies and no bogeys on the back nine to finish at 4-over, 76. Borgida has a two-round score of 6-over, 150, tied for 50th.
Junior
Ben Mulder collected two birdies, one on each side, en route to a 7-over,, 79, Tuesday, giving him a 36-hole score of 11-over, 155, tied for 79th. Sophomore
Dylan Burcham posted an 8-over, 80, on Tuesday, managing just one birdie on Hole 10. Burcham has a two-day score of 14-over, 158, tied for 86th.
Freshman
Christian Flick, competing as an individual, posted a second-round score of 7-over, 79, giving him a two-round total of 10-over, 154, tied for 74th.
The final round at the Saint Mary's Invitational will be held Wednesday morning.
