BANDON, Ore. – Led by junior
Derek Bayley who is tied for fourth, the Washington State men's golf team sits in ninth after the first of three rounds, Sunday, at the Bandon Dunes Championship held at Old MacDonald Course at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.Â
Bayley shot 4-under par (68), and is tied with Cameron Champ of Texas A&M, just three strokes back of the tournament leader, Hannes Ronneblad of Texas Tech (-7, 65).
Fourteenth-ranked Oregon leads the tournament after shooting 13-under par (275) on the day. No. 21 Colorado (-5, 283), No. 9 Texas Tech (-5, 283), No. 19 Auburn (-4, 284) and No. 18 Texas A&M (-2, 286) round out the top-5.Â
Sophomore
AJ Armstrong is tied for 37th after shooting 1-over par (73), while junior
Zach Anderson is one stroke behind (+2, 74) and is tied for 47th after the first round.Â
Sophomore
Grant Cole is tied for 55th (+3, 75), and senior
Nick Mandell is tied for 64th (+4, 76), to round out the WSU team competitors. Junior
Brian Mogg, competing as an individual, is tied with Mandell for 64th at 4-over par (76).Â
