The Washington State men's and women's track and field teams travel to
Seattle for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, Fri., Feb. 24 (Noon), and Sat., Feb. 25 (10:30 a.m.), at the Dempsey Indoor Facility...scoring is 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1...14 schools with both men's and women's teams: Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, California, Cal State Northridge, Colorado, Long Beach State, Oregon, Portland, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Washington and WSU...five schools have women's only teams: Cal State Fullerton, Hawai'i, Oregon State, UC Irvine, and Utah...Live results through wsucougars.com/ Track&Field/Schedule/Results available Feb. 24...results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com, at the completion of each day's events.
WAYNE PHIPPS, DIR. OF WSU CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK & FIELD
Wayne Phipps (University of British Columbia '91) is in his third season with the Washington State track and field program...he became the 15th men's coach and the second coach for the combined men's and women's program at WSU on July 1, 2014, after 19 years at the University of Idaho...Phipps led the Cougar men's cross country program back-to-back NCAA Championships at-large berth appearances with a 14th-place finish in 2016: the highest in 32 years after the entire 2015 team that placed 26th returned for the 2016 season....during the 2016 Track & Field season, a pair of Cougs earned second-team All-America honors...Cougars tallied 25 new entries into the WSU all-time top ten records...while at Idaho, Phipps was honored 14 times as a conference coach of the year and led the Vandals to a record 16 conference titles.

Established in 1992 to serve the competitive needs of members of the Pac-12, Big West, Mountain West, Western
Athletic and West Coast Conferences and other selected universities in the western United States , the Mountain
Pacific Sports Federation provides Division I championships in selected sports...at the 2016 MPSF Â T&F Indoor Championships, the WSU men's scored 19 points (12th) and the women scored 54.5 points (4th)...for the 2017 championships, the returning WSU women scorers are:
