Sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen is tied for 7th

The WSU women's golf team is in 5^th place after the first round of the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. The team finished with a 289(+1), three strokes behind 4^th place UTSA (286, -2). Two Cougars sit in the top 15 after shooting under par for the day.

Sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen scored a 70(-2) in the first round, sharing the score with three others tied for 7^th. Redshirt freshman Emily Baumgart followed directly behind with a score of 71(-1) to tie for 11^th. Baumgart marked one of the three total eagles of the day.

Junior Madison Odiorne is tied with 8 others for 29^th after tallying a 73(+1) in the first round.

Denver and New Mexico are tied for first, both with a one round total of 283(-5). New Mexico's Ingrid Gutierrez leads the players with a 66(-6) total.

The second round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate is set to begin at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 7^th.
