Morgan Weaver scored three goals while senior
Kaitlyn Johnson assisted on a Cougar school-record four scores to lead Washington State to a 5-0 victory over North Dakota State Sunday evening in front of 1,006 fans at Lower Soccer Field.

With the win the Cougars improve to 3-2-0 on the season while the Bison even its record at 3-3-0.

Weaver entered the game leading the team in shots this season but had yet to put one in the net. It didn't take long to get her first as 1 minute, 47 seconds into the contest
Kelsee Crenshaw sent a cross from the right side to
Kaitlyn Johnson on the far post, who redirected the header into the box where Weaver one-timed the ball past Bison goalkeeper Monica Polgar for the early 1-0 lead.

Less than five minutes later,

Fifteen minutes into the second half Weaver struck again, this time finishing a
Kaitlyn Johnson thru-ball in the box for the first Cougar hat trick since Eileen Maes had three in a season-opening, 3-1 win at Hawaii, Aug. 19, 2011.

Freshman
Katie Jones closed out the scoring in the 87th minute as she took a pass from
Shayna Whieldon inside the box and sent a low drive past Polgar for her first goal of the season.

On the night the Cougars outshot the Bison 29-3, the most shots by a
Todd Shulenberger coached-team at WSU.
Kaitlyn Johnson's four assists eclipsed the school-record of three held by five players, most recently Michaela Castain, who assisted on all three in a 3-1 win at California in 2013.

Washington State is next in action when it travels to Fort Worth, Texas to face TCU Friday at 5 p.m. PT. The Horned Frogs were receiving votes in the most recent NSCAA poll.
