WSU VOLLEYBALL MAKES HUGE LEAP IN NATIONAL STANDINGS
Coming off a pair of stunning roads wins at then-No. 4 Washington and less 48 hours and 1,150 miles away at then-No. 9 UCLA, the WSU volleyball team is ranked No. 17 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Coachers Top 25 Poll for Week 5 (Sept. 26)...this is first Top 25 ranking since 2009 when the Cougars were ranked 21st, 24th and 25th in Weeks 9, 10 and 11 of the  15-week poll...historically (through 2015), WSU volleyball has been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 Poll a total of 116 times - tied for 32nd-best in DI, and ranked in the top ten 30 times which is 28th-best in DI...WSU's highest ranking was No. 5 in the Oct. 17, 1995 poll (when Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny and Asst. Coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt were Cougar starters)...WSU had received votes on two or more ballots in the Sept. 12 and 19 polls...in the Sept. 26 PrepVolleyball.com College Top 50 rankings, WSU is ranked No. 13th up from 31st last week...other Pac-12 schools in this week's  PrepVolleyball.com Top 50 are: 9.
