SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – In a field which features six top-30 opponents, the Washington State men's golf team is 12th after the first two rounds of the Pac-12 Championships, Friday, at The Country Club.
WSU (+35, 745) sits four strokes back of Utah and nine strokes back of Oregon State. No. 4 Stanford (-22, 688) leads the field. No. 13 California (-17, 693) and No. 2 USC (-6, 704) round out the top three.
Sophomore Derek Bayley leads the Cougars and is one stroke out of the top 25. Tied for 26th, Bayley shot a first-round 77 and a second-round 66 to bring his two-round score to 143 (+1). The No. 33 golfer in the country, California's K.K. Limbhasut, leads the field at 10-under par (132).
Sophomore Zach Anderson is tied for 45th after shooting 7-over par (149) through two rounds. Freshman AJ Armstrong is tied for 54th at 150 (+8), one stroke ahead of fellow freshman Aaron Whalen, who is tied for 59th (+9, 151).
Junior Nick Mandell is tied for 68th (+13, 155), while senior Evan Omelia is in 72nd (+21, 163).
