Cougars Tied for Sixth After 18 Holes at Blessing Collegiate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 29, 2025) – The Washington State men's golf team finished the first round in sixth place after carding a 15-over, 303, at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Monday, played on the par-72, 7,869-yard Blessings Golf Club.
 
Host Arkansas leads the field at 5-over, 293, with Louisville and BYU trailing at 11-over, 299. 
 
The Cougars were led Monday by Dylan Boenning, who fired a 1-over, 73. The freshman had three birdies on the front nine to help him sit at seventh place individually. 
 
Senior Sam Renner carded a 4-over, 76, never finding his rhythm as his round included three birdies, five bogeys and a double bogey. Despite the slow start, Renner sits tied for 20th and within striking distance of the leaders. Redshirt-junior Ben Borgida and junior Ben Mulder each shot a 5-over, 77. Borgida's round included three birdies while Mulder posted two birdies for his first 18 holes.
 
Sophomore Dylan Burcham carded a 7-over, 79, which included three birdies on the back 9.
 
The Cougars will return to action Tuesday morning for round two of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, teeing off at 8 a.m. CT on Hole 10.
