CORVALLIS, Ore. -- The No. 10 Washington State volleyball team moved to a 15-2 overall record and remained undefeated and in the sole possession of the lead of the Pac-12 Conference with a 5-0 record after scoring a 19-25, 25-15, 25-20, and 25-18 win over Oregon State (8-8, 1-4) at Gill Coliseum Friday night in Corvallis.

The 5-0 conference record is the best start in school history.

WSU senior Kyra Holt led the team with a double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs with an ace and three blocks. McKenna Woodford had 12 kills and eight digs while Hailey Bethune added eight kills hitting .368 and had six blocks. Sophomore Taylor Mims had seven kills with no errors in 16 attacks to lead the match with a .438 hitting percentage, one ace, and had a career-high 11 blocks which ties Claire Martin's 2015 total of 11 blocks at Oregon State for fourth-best in WSU all-time records in a four-set match. Friday night Martin contributed four kills and four blocks while Casey Schoenlein added six kills and five blocks. Haley MacDonald had a double-double with 24 assists and 11 digs and Nicole Rigoni had 20 assists. Alexis Dirige had 18 digs.

Oregon State was led by Mary-Kate Marshall's 16 kills while Lanesha Reagan had 12 kills, 10 digs and three blocks. Kory Cheshire led the Beavers with five blocks and had two aces while McKenna Hollingsworth had four blocks in addition to setting up 35 assists. Lila Toner added two aces and Kayla Ellis led the team with 18 digs.

WSU hit .265 for the match and held OSU to a .130 hitting percentage. The Cougars won the kills battle 53 to 48 and the digs contest 63 to 56. The Cougars, number two nationally in blocks coming into the contest, had 15.5 blocks to Oregon State's 10. OSU won the serving tally five to three.

"I'm glad we came out with a win. I think Oregon State is a heck of a team and they have some really good outside hitters, "WSU Head Coach Jen Greeny said. "We had to adjust to some things they were doing; they were passing so well early that they had all their options and we weren't getting our block in the right place or playing great defense. We had to keep going after them and make adjustments on our side of the net and we definitely did that in the third and fourth sets."

"For us to hit .265 after only hitting .172 in the first set says a lot about what our hitters did tonight," Greeny said. "I'm really happy to see Hailey Bethune come out strong and have a really nice match tonight. Taylor Mims' blocking shows she just keeps getting better and better. Really proud of our team offensively."

WSU takes on No. 20 Oregon (11-3, 4-1 - after losing to No. 7 Washington 3-0 Friday night in Eugene) Sunday, Oct. 9 in a 1 p.m. match in Eugene.
