Pullman, Wash. - The Washington State women's tennis team won both the singles and doubles flights during the final day of play at the WSU Invitational Sunday at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

WSU's Donika Bashota captured the singles title with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Gonzaga's Sophie Whittle. Bashota reached the finals by defeating Cougar teammate Trang Huynh, 6-3, 6-3. Gonzaga's Whittle reached the singles finals after defeating Washington State's Barbora Michalkova 6-4, 6-2.

The Cougars placed three of their four doubles teams in the semifinals, while also having three of the four singles semifinalists.

WSU's Lize Leenknecht and Bashota defeated Gonzaga's Sam Polayes and Sophie Whittle, 7-6 to capture the doubles championship. The duo posted five victories throughout the doubles flight enroot to winning the flight.

The Cougars' duo of Barbora Michalkova and Victoria Matejevic started the day in consolation play defeating Montana's Francis Dean and Anna Carbo, 6-1. The duo then won their second consolation match 7-6 over Montana State's Linda Vink and Angelina Philippova.

Washington State's Maria Biryukova and Holly Monahan defeated Montana State's Jessica Brycki and Laura Middel, 6-3 in the doubles consolation bracket. The duo fell in the semifinals of the doubles flight to eventual champions Leenknecht and Bashota.

The Cougars are next in action Thursday when they travel to Provo, Utah to compete in the 2015 BYU Invitational. The tournament runs Thursday-Saturday.
