Cougars Release 2015-16 Women's Golf Schedule

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Cougar Cup at Palouse Ridge, Sept. 21-22, highlights the fall portion of the 2015-16 Washington State women's golf schedule, as announced by head coach Kelli Kamimura.
The Cougars will open their fall schedule at the Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational at Albuquerque, N.M., Sept. 14-15. The University of New Mexico has hosted the event at The Championship Golf Course since 1979. The team will return home to host the WSU Cougar Cup at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club, Sept. 21-22.
For the third tournament of the season, WSU will compete at the Ron Moore Invitational at Highlands Ranch, Colo, Oct. 9-11. The event will be held at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club, a course designed by three-time U.S.Open Champion Hale Irwin. Next, the Cougars will travel to Palo Alto, Calif. for the Stanford Intercollegiate.
To end their fall schedule, the Cougars will play in the Pac-12 Preview at the Nanea Golf Club at Kailua Kona, Hawaii. Golf Magazine's panel of experts ranked Nanea as one of the best courses in the U.S. and the world.
After a two-month winter break, WSU will begin its spring season Feb 21-22, at Peoria, Ariz., at the Westbrook Spring Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin. Following that, the Cougars will travel to San Luis Obispo, Calif. to compete in the Bruin/Wave Invitational, Feb 27-28.
The women's golf team will head back to Arizona for three tournaments, with the first being the Wildcat Invitational at Tuscon, Ariz., at the Sewailo Golf Course, March 14-15. Next, the Cougars will travel to Maricopa, Ariz. to compete in the Cowgirl Classic. The University of Wyoming will host the event at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, April 8-10. WSU will then compete in the Ping/ASU Invitational at Tempe, Ariz, April 18-20.
To wrap up the season, the women's golf team will travel to Plesanton, Calif., to compete in the Pac-12 Championships.
The Cougars will strive to complete a season as successful on and off the course as last year's, which was highlighted by the second NCAA Championships appearance in program history and the lowest team scoring average in WSU history. The women's golf team also received the Glenn Kranc Academic Award, given to the WSU team with the highest GPA.
